There are different traffic laws enforced by the government, which must be obeyed by every citizen, and people often violate them on streets and national highways. Every American is eligible for obtaining a driving license after attaining the age of sixteen years, and ninety percent of Americans over sixteen years of age are driving their vehicle with more than one vehicle registered on their name.

The various vehicles cover trillions of miles every year, and there are millions of traffic violations under the laws of states like crossing red lights, driving speedily, rash driving, driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, and many more says Attorney Miya Griggs. There are some traffic violations that cause damage due to direct fault or negligence, generally known as “strict liability” offenses. Such crimes are committed without any criminal intention. If a person does anything which is prohibited under the state laws, he is liable to be charged. The different offenses under Strict- liability offenses are as follows:

• Driving Speedily
• Duty of the drivers to obey the traffic rules to avoid harm to others.
• Driving a car into the wrong lane.
• Wrong Parking, particularly in a handicap area without the requisite sticker.
• Expired parking meters.

Overspending is a traffic offense. Hundred pounds and three penalty points are marked in your driving license if you are found driving the vehicle at more than the prescribed speed by the traffic official. You are banned from driving if twelve points are added to your license in three years.

Drink and drive is also a traffic offense. The speed limit while driving when one is drunk differs in England and Wales and Scotland. Your blood samples are taken and the amount of alcohol present in it which varies from person to person, there are breath meters which determine whether you are drunk or not and in some cases your urine sample is taken to know the number of alcohol contents for the punishment which could be a fine, banned from driving and even be put behind bars says Miya Griggs.

You cannot drive if you are a drug addict, and you may be charged with violation of traffic laws if any traces of illegal drugs are found in your blood. You can also be punished even if you have a prescription of the medication which affects your driving ability. The punishment includes a hefty fine, banned from driving for at least one year and may be imprisoned up to six months. The government of Scotland is bringing more strict laws from 21st October 2019 in terms of speed limits and roadside testing says Attorney Miya Griggs. It is mandatory for the driver as well as other people, including children, to wear seatbelts that are seated in the car. Fine up to 500 pounds can be charged in failing to do so.
