Many think stalking is not a crime, but that is not the case, let us first see the definition of stalking to understand its deep concepts. Following a person needlessly is called stalking, which is unlawful. There are many instances, such as going unnecessarily to a person’s home or industry place, making unknown phone calls with a motive to harass, leaving objects or messages at the doorstep of another person or damaging property of others says Attorney Miya Griggs.

Following someone or Stalking is a crime under (POHA) Protection from Harassment Act. One should go to the police occupation and register a complaint on the somebody who is stalking. Deliberately following, again and again, somebody, looking at someone with a wrong purpose or harassing other persons, is known as Stalking. It is illegal to harm somebody or insulting on a regular basis; for example, sending a letter regularly is unlawful than sending a text with a purpose.

Stomping in an unfriendly manner is stalking. If someone offends you, you might walk from one room to another and stop listening to anyone. When one goes for hunting, the person follows the animal secretly, and an animal advance towards its prey in a similar fashion. The animal pushes its prey towards the pit stealthy and jumps onto it. When somebody is stalking you, it means you are being followed and observed.

Making additional phone calls, posting unpleasant letters, or sending unwanted emails or forgetting flowers and presents and carrying unnecessary things along are harmful but may be considered as a part of your talking behavior. One can enhance a victim if one happens to indulge due to its criminal nature. When you are always taking note of all activities of the victim, it is also termed as Stalking Miya Griggs.  

 For occurrence, if you are following a victim without a lawful reason everywhere, waiting for the victim at various places and making reports and wrong information viral on the internet, in a public place and spreading it verbally. Innovative technology such as carrying messages, emails, and using other medians of social media like use of GPS and Camera is also used by the persons who are engaged in immoral activities to stalk sufferers. Most of the serious crimes are often influenced by stalking.

Most of the victims do not report to the police of being stalked because they feel ashamed of it, fear of repercussion, and their cause may not be supported by the society in which they live says Attorney Miya Griggs. The crime of Stalking will only get addressed if people from all walk come forward to address the issue. Rather, people must encourage the victim that he should not be afraid of it, and they are with him.
